\nThey cast their eyes on their former homeland.
\nAnd myself I have a chance to return to my old fatherland
\nWhere I wish to find my childhood on the dry land.
\nAtlas! My former motherland miserably tries to fend
\nOppression by the darned communists without end
\nTime left for me shrinks along the loss of hope
\nLike an oil lamp is running out of lube:
\nNearly half a century all expectations are wearing off. <\/p>\n
\nThe Vietnamese streams disperse themselves into the sea.
\nThey risk their lives carrying along great misery.
\nAs the communists robbed them off their glee.
\nFeeling ashamed of my self-consciousness
\nAs I failed to fulfill my citizen\u2019s commitment
\nThat led to losing the family
\nThen the country!<\/p>\n
\nBut my love for the old land burns warmly.
\nAnd my hope to return to it keeps burning in my heart.
\nDespite the eyes being blurred,

\nI feel like a leaf that loses water
