Forty years!
\nLosing the country, the home, I feel alone like a waif;
\nNot knowing how many friends are still alive or dead
\nFor all of us are scattering around the earth.
\nCan anyone tell who wants to leave the motherland
\nAnd will be buried in foreign sand?
\nForty years have drifted with the mass\u2019 grief and pain
\nOff their strength and hopeless faith being major drain!
\nNearly half of a person\u2019s life \u2013 that\u2019s long enough
\nFor people\u2019s will of taking the nation out of the tough.<\/p>\n
No one forgets forty years have come and gone;
\nThe end of April one-nine-seven-five that lingers on
\nIt\u2019s when heaven-earth-human tumble like a stone
\nAs the Vietnamese suffer miseries that pall
\nOver April 30, 75 \u2013 as ghosts and devils call
\nUp the tanks of north enemies that smashed city lanes
\nAnd knocked down Independence Palace gates
\nAmidst toadies\u2019 singing enemy\u2019s praises by the quasi-literati,
\nThe traitors, and of the opportunistic puppets.<\/p>\n
Forty years, they have lived in crazy haste,
\nAnd \u201cgrab and go\u201d everything their hands could paste.
\nThe war ending pushed the whole nation backward
\nAnd people enjoy living in heavenly socialist awkward.
\nTheir weird liberty that requires permission
\nFor restroom use and bathroom admission.
\nThey claim themselves possessing top worldly ken
\nAnd preach their phantomic doctrine to the lumpen.
\nChief of State Nguy\u1ec5n Minh Tri\u1ebft declared in Cuba, \u201cVietnam socialist,
\nCuba will take turn to guard and keep peace for the world \u2026 of communist.<\/p>\n
Congress chair Nguy\u1ec5n Sinh H\u00f9ng, a big frog in the petty water
\nOnce stated, Congress is people; people have to pay the piper
\nWhen congress is wrong; no way to complain.
\nDeputy Prime Minister Nguy\u1ec5n \u0110\u1ee9c \u0110am talked foolishly,
\nIf our young people aren\u2019t taught to shed tears when singing
