Cụng ly nhấp chén phù vân
Lá vàng rơi nhẹ truớc sân gọi mời
Đưa tay đón gió gọi trời
Tử sinh phó mặc
Mỉm cười như mơ

Hạc vàng xưa có ai chờ
Ngô đồng đứng lặng chơ vơ tội tình. (*)

(*) Hạc Vàng chỉ đậu trên cây Ngô Đồng nên khi Hạc Vàng vắng bóng khiến cây Ngô Đồng cô đơn, tội nghiệp.


An Evening in the Autumn

Giving each other a toast of cloud
As fallen leaves filled the front ground,
We raised our hands to touch the wind;
A peace-of-mind feeling was found.
A dreamy mood inspired us to smile

No one is waiting for the old golden heron.
Still, does the parasol tree quietly stand alone. (*)

(*) The Golden Heron only perched on the Parasol Tree, so when the Golden Heron was absent, the Parasol Tree was lonely and quiet.
